I’ve been having guitar lessons with James at London Guitar Academy and honestly couldn’t recommend him highly enough. He’s a brilliant teacher who really knows his stuff, but what makes the lessons so enjoyable is how relaxed and friendly he is. He explains things in a way that actually makes sense and has helped me improve far more quickly than I expected. Every lesson feels different and is tailored to what I want to learn, rather than just following a set routine. If you’re looking for a great guitar teacher in London, James is definitely the person to go to!

Outstanding Tuition, Deep Technical Insight & Endless Inspiration ★★★★★ I cannot recommend London Guitar Academy highly enough—this has been a truly transformative experience for my playing, and every lesson earns a full five stars. From my very first session, the standard of teaching has been exceptional, balancing clear, structured technical instruction with genuine passion and artistic insight that constantly inspires. The depth of technical detail is where the academy truly shines. Every concept—from chord voice leading, scales and improvisation, to advanced picking technique, tone shaping, and music theory—is broken down with remarkable clarity. I’ve studied guitar elsewhere before, but never had concepts explained so thoroughly, or tailored perfectly to my skill level and goals. Instructors identify exactly where your technique needs refinement, explain the why behind every exercise, and patiently guide you to build good habits that become second nature. No question is too small, and they take the time to ensure you fully understand each element before moving on, laying a rock-solid foundation that lets you progress with confidence. Beyond the mechanics, the inspiration they bring makes every lesson something I look forward to. They don’t just teach you to play notes—they help you understand musicality, expression, and how to turn technical skill into real artistry. They share musical ideas, influence, and creative approaches that spark fresh enthusiasm, and tailor lessons around the styles and songs you actually love, so progress feels meaningful and exciting. Professional, encouraging, and incredibly knowledgeable—London Guitar Academy has helped me advance faster than I ever thought possible, growing not just as a player, but as a musician. If you want to build strong technique, deepen your understanding, and stay truly inspired, this is the place to be.

If you’re looking for guitar lessons in London, look no further than the London Guitar Academy. From the moment I started, the whole team made me feel genuinely welcomed and supported — their enthusiasm for helping students reach their goals is completely authentic. The studio itself is a fantastic space, situated on a great road surrounded by brilliant cafés. It’s a comfortable, well-equipped environment with a beautiful selection of guitars that students are always encouraged to pick up and play during lessons. What really sets LGA apart is James. His love for the guitar, passion for teaching, and level of professionalism make every lesson an absolute pleasure. He strikes the perfect balance between building solid fundamentals and music theory, while keeping things fun by working on songs you actually want to play. The result? I’m learning faster and having more fun than I ever thought possible — and I’m finally playing the licks, riffs, and songs I’ve always dreamed of. I wholeheartedly recommend the London Guitar Academy to guitarists of every level, whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to take your playing to the next level. Since beginning lessons with James, my progress on guitar has accelerated beyond expectations. His teaching goes far beyond basic instruction, diving into essential technical elements such as fingerstyle precision, alternate picking, timing, and fretboard navigation. He has a remarkable ability to break down complex concepts like chord voicings, scale theory, and improvisation into clear, practical steps that are easy to apply. Each session is structured yet engaging, with a strong emphasis on tone control, dynamics, and musical expression. James tailors lessons to suit my goals while steadily pushing my technique to a higher level. I’ve seen significant improvements in my accuracy, speed, and overall confidence as a player. The highlight of my week is always lesson day. James is not only an exceptional multi-instrumentalist but also an inspiring and dedicated teacher. I couldn’t recommend him more highly.
