Aarons Hoey

My name is Aaron and I have been a tutor with the Guitar Academy for the past three years.

I graduated from The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance with a Bmus (Hons) in 2013.

As well as teaching I enjoy gigging around London with singer songwriters and I enjoy a broad range of music styles ranging from acoustic folk music to blues and hard rock.

I find teaching to be a very enjoyable and rewarding experience and I believe my passion for music and personable approach is what makes my students come back week after week.   Each lesson is tailored towards the goals you want to achieve whether it’s learning a few songs or studying music theory in depth.

I especially enjoy song writing with students whether it’s writing music from scratch or building music around some lyrics.  I can take students through the process of recording their music with Recording software like Logic Pro and teach them how to set up mics, record guitars, mix and master their music.  It’s always rewarding seeing the finished product!

Another keen interest of mine is to explore improvisation on the guitar.  I love seeing students improve week after week and find their voice on their instrument and play freely over various types of music.
